Network cable is divided into different categories based on speed, bandwidth and electronic features. Category 6 cable consists of 4 pairs of twisted wires. The difference between network cables is in the bandwidth and noise immunity as well as the maximum data transmission speed. Category 6 cable can work with a maximum frequency bandwidth of 250 MHz and a data transmission speed of up to one gigabit per second.
